Moderator can you kill this topic?
I lost the links to proof my info so there is no point talking about this.

I was reading about frigates in general and came across the LCF type Frigate (Actually Destroyer) in general and there are alot of differend type's out there that in the top of there game.
These Dutch, German, Spain and Norwegian LCF Frigate classes are being associated and classified as one and the same project called F-100 and F-124 project's which seems very similair to the De Zeven Provinciën and the Fridtjof Nansen concept.
So i was wondering, if you compare these ships the Dutch, Spanish, German and Norwegian versions to each other which one has the: Best Design, Best Systems, Best Weapons, Best Radar and which short falls do they have?
Because they are all build based on a similair system and concept but in the specifications they end up very differend.
They all cost lots of Euro's and seem to be very high tech.
I have seen the Hr.Ms. De Zeven Provinciën in Rotterdam :D and i must say she is looking great and gives me the impression that she is a mighty capable platform.
But when i see the picture's of the others than i must say they all look great and seem to be able to put your lights out. :nutkick
what are the tasks that fit these ships the best?
And if you theoretical put these ships into battle against each other which type will win?:unknown

Multipurpose Frigate's
Dutch De Zeven Provinciën class

F-802 Hr.Ms. De Zeven Provinciën
F-803 Hr.Ms. Tromp
F-804 Hr.Ms. De Ruyter
F-805 Hr.Ms. Evertsen
There are talks about 2 more of these ships in 2009 and 2011 to meet NATO demands. But if they really going to be build seems very unclear.

German Sachsen class

F-219 Sachsen
F-220 Hamburg
F-221 Hessen
F-222 Thüringen (Under construction)
There are talks about 3 more near 2010 to meet NATO demands.

Spain Alvaro de Bazan class

F-101 Álvaro de Bazán
F-102 Almirante Juan de Borbón
F-103 Blas de Lezo
F-104 Méndez Núñez
F-105 Roger de Lauria (Under construction)
F-106 Juan de Austria (Under construction)

Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen class
F-310 Fridtjof Nansen
F-311 Roald Amundsen
F-312 Otto Sverdrup
F-313 Helge Ingstad (Under construction)
F-314 Thor Heyerdahl (Under construction)

Cheers

EDIT: Could not find the link anymore (because i did not save it) about the ships that suppost to be build for Germany and the Netherlands, but i will keep looking.:)

You do realise that these sit in two groups-the F-100 and Nansen Class are basically the same (although the Nansens are ASW frigates, the F-100 are Multi-role DDGs), and the LCF and Sachsens share the same combat system and use the same AAW system.

Oh and the Sachsens are not going beyond 3 (Thuringen is not being built) unless Kato knows otherwise.

Yes i do realise that they are in 2 groups, and it is true they share the same weapon systems, but that was the first building configuration or standart configuration.
After beeing put into service they got changed with some updates and a different configuration and support systems to the wishes of there owners.
So infact they are not the same anymore due these changes.
I will try to get a list of changes and post it here.
I did have the link but i forgot to save it.

Indeed you right i just found out myself
The German ship F-222 Thüringen will not be build. because they did not take the option but they may build it within 5 years after that the option will be cancelled forever.

a) No there are no talks about "3 more F124".
b) "NATO demands" do not dictate German defence procurement.
c) the same goes for the LCF, no additional ships; two M-Ships will be retained.
d) You do realize that it is "near 2010" now?
e) the fourth F124 option ran out a couple years ago.
f) no the ships were not "changed significantly after being put into service"
g) "LCF" is not a generic term. Yes, it means "AAW Frigate", but it is only applied internationally to the DZP class. A fitting replacement term for what you mean would be "frigates of the Trilateral Common Frigate Agreement", or "TCF".

Also, i suggest you read the rules on vs threads before a moderator stumps you in that direction.

@Kato forgive me if iam not as smart on military info as you:)
I do come almost every day to read the topic's and always see that you got an fitting reply.

So iam not the person to argue with you or this info is correct or not.

Anyway i banging my head against the wall:hitwall because i lost the links to support the things i wrote.
So because iam not able to proof my posts i drop the topic:D.

Anyway the main quistion remains:
If you compare these ships the Dutch, Spanish, German and Norwegian versions to each other which one has the: Best Design, Best Systems, Best Weapons, Best Radar and which short falls do they have?

[Moderator edit]I suggest you follow the good advice Kato has given and read the rules, particularly rule 3. http://defencetalk.com/forums/rules.php
Then, I suggest you try to steer this thread in a different direction, away from "Which is best?". [/Mod edit]
