Sudan sought T-80s from Russia in 2004

Sounds like a journalistic exaggeration. Expressed an interest in and was likely to purchase are also two very different things. Most likely what happened was that the Sudanese delegation was taken to one of the two parade divisions, Kantemir. or Tamansk. and got a nice little puppet show involving a few stunts done on the T-80UD's there. The delegation then probably made some polite statements along the lines of "wow that very interesting" which seems to the be the only grounds this article has for being written.

I agree with Feanor, coz Malaysia too had developed an interest in the T-80, but after the tests, Malaysia chose the Twardy instead.

What armour does Chad currently have?
Or the EU peacekeeping force there for that matter?
Chadians have T54/55s plus ERC90. Sudan does not have the T-80, they have many Chinese T-59s as well as the quite modern T-96. The heaviest firepower EUFOR has brought is the French ERC90s. But then they have plenty of Milan and Eryx atgms. The Irish are reported to have brought the Javelin.
