New member introduction: Gaines Blackwell
I am 68 and a retired architecture school professor. I remain active in designing houses and have traveled extensively in Western Europe and one trip to India and China. I am interested in old static fortresses as well as modern warfare. Have made great efforts to visit WW2 battle fields and zones as well as museums. Though mainly a historian I have a great interest in modern technology and it's effect on warfare. I probably have little to contribute but much to learn. Found this site on Google....where else!!!
I live in Auburn, Al, 30 miles from Ft. Benning.

the Eagle has landed....male,Nigerian,never been a soldier but have followed the military since I was 12.
IMHO, there is a lotta half-truths, speculation steeped in old stereotypes and outdated info about the Nigerian Armed Forces in here. I am here to clear up all of that.
If you wanna know what is going on in the Nigerian Navy where most of us seem to believe the platforms are underwater, APC procurement contracts which you have not heard about anywhere else but which have been on regardless, look here).Indeed 320 ultramodern APCs from the Ukraine,turkey and Poland are gradually coming into NA service

call me buckshot! I live in Florida, am a vetran of U.S.Navy, served in the only VP outfit to participate in the gulf war, guess which one.

Hello, i'm Quillin (not my real name but my internet allias, i just keep on using this name everytime i'm on a forum)
I'm a student in Belgium and love every naval related thing. the past 5 years i have been busy with fleets from world war 2 (i'm a WW2 lover).
Anyway, my basic naval knowledge came in handy for a friend of mine. He's a geopolitical analyst who created the neodi thinkgroup. (neodi.net). He asked me if i could help him with a naval related analysis he was doing so i tried to help him out the best i could. Turns out i made an impression but that must be because he knew nothing about navies. Anyway, he asked me if i could be his naval analysist but in order to become that i have to know a lot about modern day navies, a proces i'm in it right now. So i stumbled upon this website, it looked good and registration, here i came.
So, the next weeks i'll be reading a lot on this site, so don't expect much posting from me. Also because i'm still at the university and have a lot of work there so i have for the moment a constant sortage of time so you won't see me that much posting but rahter reading.
I hope that once i have enough knowledge about modern fleets that i can make any contributions on this forum
