On December 29, 2007 Iraq claimed that Kuwait naval troops and fighter jets targeted a site for a company from Holland operating in Iraqi waters near Umm Qasr.:ar15 At: gulfsecurity.blogspot.com they think that Iraq was bombarding U.N. 1993 Resolution No. 833 on the demarcation of the border between the State of Kuwait and Iraq to get wider access to the Arabian Gulf, where is U.S from this ?:rel .

Is there a source for the claim? Aside from the blog, the only mention I have encountered when checking the Internet is the post here. If an additional source(s) can be cited, with more information as to what is supposed to have happened, then a discussion can be made. Given what seems to be rather thin information at present, discussion would seem to be more speculation.

Its been my experience in the Gulf that Kuwait has plenty of access. Its Iraq that don't. Thus the whole story is backwards.

Turkmanistan dosent have access to the Arabian gulf or other sea , Iran has plenty of access are we gona see Turkmanistan accusing Iran of sending their old F14 jests to attack them so they can talk about an inlet to the gulf. do you think that kuwait should give away some of its land to any one in need cause "Kuwait has plenty of access":rel

Indeed on the two links Kuwait denies conducting bombardment of sites in Iraqi territories/waters. What is missing is the source or claim about the bombardment which is being denied. Without more information on the claimed attack, it amounts to little more than an Internet rumour since it can be neither absolutely confirmed or denied.

there's no official Iraqi accusation but the accusation came from an Iraqi newspaper called "Al Sabah" (the mourning) and was adopted and republished by other iraqi news websites.

the claim came out for the 1st time from this webpage from Al Sabah newspaper

it claimed , quoting from an Iraqi official from the ministry of transport called Bankeen Raikani , that Kuwaiti military forces have bombed a boat that belongs to the Hollandi SIMG company ... etc

Are they being accused of bombing something with PGM's on land? Or was this allegedly an anti-shipping mission with Harpoons?
