Cobra AH-1 vs a Apache (let's say fully upgraded).
They are both attack heli's so they can engage each other I'm assuming
I was wondering which one would win if pitted against one another in let's say a battlefield where both heli's can hide for cover
Would the Apache win because it can carry more advanced weapons? :?
btw which model of Cobra AH-1 does Pakistan have :?
There go my questions (hopefully not dumb ones)
their is no dough that apache longbow is more technologically advanced in terms of weapons armor and avionics, but no one must under estimate king/super cobra.
here is a comparison of early block of AH-1 and AH-1 Z and see how far it has come.
AH-1 F

* TOW Missiles - 4 or 8 missiles mounted in two-missile launchers on each hardpoint
AH-1 Z

as far the question goes of what type and how many does PA operates..
currently PA has about 78 AH-1 S/F and the work has started to upgrade them to "King cobra" standard under Pakistan Army's AFFDP-2019 modernization program. the king cobra was offered to Turkey's Ah-1.
Up to 30 new-generation attack helicopters is a requirement for the PA to enhance the Army's attack aviation arm. options include the Eurocopter Tiger, South African AH-2 Rooivalk and Boeing AH-64D "Apache Longbow". though couple of years ago their were reports from both the American and Pakistani source that PA is very soon to receive up to 12 "longbows" for free of cost but have no idea what happened! may be PA is using some barrowd once in Waziristan to fight of the terrorism ???... who knows...
