Scorpious has already answered the your question.

Whether the govt. implements a State of Emergency in Pakistan is an internal matter!

Pakistan on the so called war on terror is the single biggest resource that the us and allies countries have.

The experience of Pakistanis intelligence bloc (in dealing with Islamic extremists and the on ground contact resources in Afghanistan that they have) in the region is both vast and unique (as in no one else has that much of a say).

The US should ensure that a stable non extremist government stays in power and keep on offering financial and military aid to Pakistan that ways they will be able to stay out of the controversial diplomatic decisions regarding the subcontinent (read Kashmir), while rapidly developing trade ties with India will ensure that the Indian lobby is kept happy. Frankly the recent statements by US diplomats are not helping their own cause.

Somewhere down the post their was a “Pakistan nuke falling into extremist hands” that talk has been going on for a long time.

The Jewish and Indian lobby raised this very question in USA a lot however a nuclear device is not exactly a hand grenade pin and hammer thing, it’s a lot more complex, standard practice is to have a code protected device which is not too difficult to make once you have already made the nuclear device, any real threat will require support from every corner of the military structure and if a extremist organization has that kind of coercing ability, they can steal a nuclear bomb from any place.

US policy towards Pakistan has always been misdirected. For example if democracy has not taken root in Pakistan one of the reason is USA. They have always backed military dictators. From Ayub to Musharraf they had excellent relations with them and quite frankly they prefer dictators to democratically elected governments. Whenever a democratically government was in power in Pakistan our relations were at its lowest. It is in a way easy to control one-person then entire government. Almost all political parties in Pakistan are against extremism but since they are too protesting against a dictator for the restoration of democracy this is often mixed with extremists fighting against government. Indian and other parties with vested interests portray this scenario in the light of government fighting against extremists. This way US general public is mislead. Then there are hawks in US policy makers who do not understand the gravity of the situation and try to take advantage of the situation. In the end they end up creating a bigger mess than the one existing before. Looking at history US Pakistan relations have not been consistent and US had ditched Pakistan at the most awkward situation. The indications have started coming up that the same is going to happen again. As far as nuclear weapons are concerned I have already stated that stealing these weapons is not easy. A lot of stories and scenarios are influenced by Hollywood movies and have no comparison with reality.

Mod: Ejaz use paragraphing. It gives a headache to read even the post size of yours.

Last 8 years of Musharaf were most terrible years for pakistan history also for world peace.

He was mastermind behind kargil war between pakistan and india.Which was his first gift to pakistan.

After 9/11 he totally missguided US and played distructive role in Afghanistan war.He has given wrong image of Pushtoon tribes (talaban) to west that they are terrorist and suppoting Al Qaida. As result lot of local terroist cell pop up due to wrong policies of musharaf.

In mean time he played very dangrous role to leak nuk technology to iran ,simple proof is after his take over within six month iran got long range missile technology and tested sucessfully.

He disgrassed pakistan national hero Dr Qadir Khan through well engineered drama.

I think fujullah type of strategy will be more sucessful to root out terroism in FATA and Afghanistan.

Most important thing is Iran should not be allowed to interfer in pakistan internal politics but unfortunatly majority of top brass of pakistan army is supporting iran or in favour of iran ?

waraich, please make up your mind between nuke and missile tech. How has obtaining nuke tech allowed Iran test rockets? Btw they tested the Shahab before Musharraf assumed power.

In all honesty the west didn't need Mush to tell them the Taliban were Pushtuns. However, millitary aggression towards them has pushed the Pukhtuns to become Taliban.

Iran first time sucessfully tested their long range missile on 21 Sept 2000 ,Gen Musharaf took power on Oct 12,1999.
You know very well that both nuke and missile program and facilities were under Gen musharaf control. Finally he dumb truck of garbage on Dr Qadir to cover his face.

His wrong policies actually forced pushtoon tribes to become talaban .

This is going way off topic & waraich your are in clear violations in different places. The thread is for Pakistan & War on Terror not for Musharaff & his deeds.

We have already started considering the future of all these threads for these reasons.
