i know the respect u get for the doctors and the poor patients after watching something like that is extreme i think what makes it even more shocking is the fact that most of the time you only see the patients after recovery. It also makes you think about the guys who had to go through this during the great wars and before who didnt have the modern technology and medical knowhow available today

The only time gore has ever bothered me is if it involved children. The worst are the car accidents. Thankfully Ive never had to pick up pieces of little kids after a suicide bombing but Ive had to pick them up after being beat to death, or, dismembered in a car accident..

I agree that the medics are truly remarkable people.

Totally agree about the medical advances that have been made and the speed soldiers can be removed from the battle field to recieve help from what i understand in world war two 1 in three casulties on average died now it is something like 1-7 or 1-8.

The gore didn,t shake me up enough to believe wars should never be fought, our world is not a fairy tale and when bad people are declaring that they want to take you down you have to be strong and stand your ground.

I think some people in the western world have forgotten that, in America it looks like the public are ready to quit in Iraq which is sad Al Qaeda will get inflated opinions of themselves and there abilities and will attack even more.

I downloaded it a year or so ago. I thought it was really good, and really moving to watch two US soldiers dying on screen.

It's the sort of thing I think should be made compulsory viewing in the lead-up to any future public debate about going to war. War is of course sometimes necessary - but you need to be able to look at things like Baghdad ER and be able to say it's worth it.
