Which armies give swords to their NCOs?

To quote/misquote an exchange between two Falkland Islanders (while the islands were under Argentine occupation, loudly enough for all of the nearby troops to overhear):

"How can you tell if you offended a Gurkha?"

"Shake your head, if it doesn't fall off then you haven't."

As I recall, the Argentinians are still rather upset that the Gurkhas were used against their conscripts at Mt. Tumbledown. Calling them mercenaries, murderers, etc. Apparently the kukri was used there too.

On topic: I think that some Commonwealth countries, like S'pore and M'Sia, allow Warrant Officers to carry swords whilst on ceremonial duties. But I don't know the specifics about their issue

You want to play with the big boys then you gotta play by their rules. You wage war you take what comes at you and if it's Ghurkhas or the Paras or whoever to bad. Not there problem that your troops aint up to scratch.
