I just am looking into the UK involvement in Vietnam.
The only things i can find but are not verified by actual source or other area to confirm,
WikiAnswers - Discussion of 'What was the extent of British involvement in the Vietnam war?'
I am a ex Royal Navy Leading Seaman who served on a aircraft carrier HMS Centaur which headed up a task force of 2 British destroyer 1 Australian destroy and a New Zealand frigate plus support vessels which laid laid off Vietnam during November/ December 1958 and carried day light bombing raids over Vietnam
Douglas L Thomas
With a check on wiki and other site’s about the light carrier HMS Centaur wiki makes no mention of any action off the coast of Vietnam not to say it did not happen
• US IV Corps Certificate for senior British Paratrooper 1965
1897P Senior Paratrooper's Sword with Vietnam provenance
Goggle has not been much of a help with the subject on the UK involvement in the conflict, can any one shed any light on the UK on why they did not get officially involved or what they acutely did there?
