Board of Peace - Wikipedia

Donald Trump creates his own UN, with himself as the only chairman.

1 Billion $ for a unliminted chair, to pay by the countries into the boards account, or the members will change after 3 years.

Trump creates his own United Nations without any veto rights and with his rules.

Invited are:
Hungary
Jordan
Cyprus
Turkey
Greece
Pakistan
Egypt
Kazhachstan
Canada
Paraguay
Argentina
Albania
India
Brasil
Vietnam
Israel
Australia
Italy
New Zealand
Germany
Quatar
Russia

At the end Trump said there will be 60 special invited countries within this board.

What effects can this board have to the world?
The board is not only for Gaza, but for "keeping peace in the world".
Is the UN now obsolete?

The UN may be obsolete, Trump's Board of Peace, DOA for most nations.

Nobody in their right mind would pay that shyster a billion dollars.
It depends on what you can get for that money. In principle if Trump is bribe-able then there are things worth that kind of money one could get from the president of the USA.

The problem is that while Donald might be bribable, he doesn't stay bought.
So the answer is to ensure you get what you paid for within the time you can count on him to perform. Long term engagement is probably not feasible, but even with that limitation I think there are actors willing to pay that kind of price for a certain kind of seat at the table.

If an Head of State/Government wants to join, they have to pay a billion dollar?

Half of those countries' governments would fall the exact moment they pay.
If Italy's Meloni pay a billion dollars, people will want her head.

Just want to point out here that the "Board for Peace" was actually formed under the auspices of a UN Security Council resolution.

This to me strongly suggests that it will not be able to become a forum to replace the UN itself.

Trump wants to replace the UN with his board. It would be a problem if the Board tries to rule the world. Conflicts should be solved in it, Trump said.

Only if they want to join as a permanent member. The funny thing is that those who may want to join likely don’t have a billion to spare and most definitely have no say on the world affairs the board is intended to resolve.

Also, once Trump realizes that he may potentially be surrounded with the likes of Aliyev, etc, while all the big boys of the world stay out, there is no way he will proceed with the idea.

Mark Galeotti suggested an idea: Putin says he will join, but would only pay the bill from the frozen assets. An interesting take, but I am fairly certain that Putin has no desire to join an endeavour like that, unless he will have the power equivalent to that of Trump’s - that being the UN SC, frozen assets or not.

Overall, one of those things nowadays that make you stop and think whether you are dreaming or not. Once you confirm that you aren’t, all you can do is appreciate that you have a front row seat to observe the circus. Then you think, imagine it was all real and not just a game… oh, wait… The times we live in.

Small update:
All major european countries declined, including Trump's most important ally in the EU (Meloni). Unclear the position of close-to-irrelevant leaders like Orban.

For Trump-aligned people, Fico and Babis apparently didn't get an invite.
Kosovo and Albania are joining up. Well, and Orban and Lukashenko.

Romania is "assessing" the offer with regard to "compatibility with their other international commitments" and its constitutional legality (will likely decline). Pretty much the same for Cyprus, where it's about jobs in Gaza reconstruction (will likely accept unless Greece or the EU tell them not to do it).

"The reality has been that, time and again, the US has placed its own interests and its own sovereignty first. The United States’ interest in international law, going back to the Nuremberg, has always been ad hoc rather than treaty based,” Nice told Al Jazeera, referring to the Nuremberg trials of Nazi leaders after World War II. “What’s compounded this is that, for over 80 years, Europe and others have deluded themselves that this isn’t the case.”
"The recognition of that reality by the Canadians and Europeans is landing very differently across the world. For some, similar to Europe and Canada, it feels like a shocking collapse,” Hellyer said. “For others, it’s simply the moment when a system that never protected Black and brown populations, or the ‘Global South’, is finally being named for what it was.”
The rest of World (Global South) are looking this Board of Peace as just another venue of negotiation and bargaining with Big Power. Thus just like another day, another media. For most of Europe (Global North) is a shock as they are not used to be treated by US as most of Global South use being treat and see what reality of what US first is. This is why seems the Global North reacted more negatively then Global South on Trump antics.

For Global South Trump just being more straight forward and less hyprocritical then other US Presidents. Global South always see that behind the niceties and talk of International Order of previous US administrations, US always navigate base on US first rule. The trick is how to bargain base on that recognition and try to negotiate Global South interest within US "International Order". Trump just make it more open and straight forward. What he did to Maduro and Venezulla, actually less severe in what US do to Noriega and Panama for example. Thus it is not that shocking for most of Global South.
