An interesting claim from "Warzone the drive" unsubstantiated of course and perhaps optimistic but either way the Ukrainian source should of kept quiet for political fallout
Ukraine Situation Report: Kyiv Claims New Combat Aircraft Has Been Determined (thedrive.com)
Unsubstantiated? There is US$100 million authorized for the US to train Ukrainians on US military aircraft. The Ukrainians are after F-15s and F-16s.

There is lots of speculation on F16s but the US as holder of export licenses will need to authorise any export and there has been no signals from the US administration that they are headed down that track yet. That being the case I again ask the question why not revisit the delivery of the Polish and Slovakia MIGs? It’s an immediate solution for getting more combat aircraft into Ukrainian hands.

^ They are revisiting it. They are saying they are ready to send their T-72, given they get replaced with the western tanks, and MIG’s are in play. Furthermore, they are willing to provide F-16 training to the Ukrainian pilots once they receive the planes.

This brings the questions: Do the Ukes even have enough pilots left to fly those planes? Do they have any airfields left to take off from and land to?

Ah, so that's why the Leopards are 12x, the Centurions & S-tank were 10x & the Strv 74 was 7x - I presume the last digit is number in the series, preceded by no. of centimetres.

Aha! Ikv 91 makes sense now. It's obvious in the CV 9030, 40, etc., of course.

There was a story in one of the media outlets where apparently Germany suggested taking the used challenger 1 tanks from Jordan and Oman refurbishing them and then give them to Ukraine. Not sure whether true but what so people think.

Last time I watched some russian TV (60 минут),
a leader from the chechen special forces claimed it is no big problem to destroy german (leopard) or english (challenger) tanks.

As
a) most of the tanks, delivered to ukraine, are older versions from the 90s (and have weaker protection, older systems)
b) anti-tank missiles, used by infantry, are made to destroy exactly this NATO tanks.
c) drones are being equipped with anti tank missiles

So, most likely we will have some graveyard for tanks (from both sides) at the 'end' of this war.

Is this post serious or what

^ "Do you think ukrainers can make use of Nlaw and Javelin, and we have no counterparts on our side?"

By that measure, they have probably captured enough Javelin’s and NLAW’s by now to destroy the number of tanks to be supplied, so they have it figured out (insert whatever the appropriate emoji is).

No doubt about the graveyard though.

In other news, the Abrams are to be the M1A1 version:

We (Canada) are sending a whooping 4 Leopards, likely A4:

The question the general received was:
"Are we going to be able to handle (destroy) those western tanks, or not?"

The answer he gave was the above, plus:
"Do you think ukrainers can make use of Nlaw and Javelin, and we have no counterparts on our side?"

Well, you better educate yourself.

Good night.
Is there any other he could possibly give? Consider the following hypothetical. Russia doesn't have anything comparable to the NLAW of Javelin ("hypothetically"...) and even Kornet ATGMs are relatively scarce in line motor-rifles units. Consequently the delivery large numbers of relatively modern tanks represents a problem. What possible answer to this could this general give? "We're screwed and the defense industry needs to produce quantities of modern ATGMs ASAP?" Of course his answer has to be "don't panic, we have ways of destroying these". He's not strictly speaking wrong. But it's a misleading view of the situation.

China and the US (others as well) are no doubt carefully analyzing the air war in Ukraine. Huge implications for China and the US wrt to any confrontation over Taiwan. Data provided by Ukraine may be more forthcoming than data Russia is willing to supply China with.
