Saudi considers T-95 MBTs?

I strongly believed that this was just a rumour, but seeing those pics has changed my mind; if the Saudis actually brought the t-90s to Saudi Arabia and tested them out there might be something to this arms deal rumour yet.

It's still highly surprising though, because Sadi Arabia is so dependent on its relationship with the US for defence assurances and because they have always bought American or European. On the other hand it would offer the US an excellent chance to get a good look at the T-90 and any other tech that the Russians send over for testing in the desert.

And about the rumoured specs for the T-95: A 135mm gun is big! Bigger than any other modern MBT right?

The rumor in itself was laid to rest about close to a year ago with both Russian and Saudi defense officials stating that there was in deed testing and evaluations that were being conducted on behalf of Saudi Arabia, the T-90 deal at the present time seems to be placed on hold due to Saudi Arabia, most likely due to political reasons or may be in fact with some issues or concerns inregards to the tank itself.

Inregards to the T-95, yes it has been rumored that it may have a 135mm maingun, but NATO tank producing countries have tested a 140mm maingun with good results. Russia has also tested a 152mm maingun also. T-95 will supposingly be ready for production in the year 2009 as stated by Russian military officials but I remain skeptical. Do not be surprised if this tank doesn`t have a dual caliber breech and recoil mechanism capable of either a 125mm or 135mm.
