The article mentions 10 delivered birds, which raised my eyebrows when I originally read it. Are we then to assume that bort 10 has been delivered? Or has one of the pre-serial birds been turned into a serial one?
I wonder if these 5 delivered are makeup for last year, when deliveries of Yak-130 fell woefully short of the numbers ordered.
Probably a miss by the editor in that article, if not there are bort nr 10 flying around at Lipetsk now..
On the Yak-130.
Why Do they start on bort nr 21..etc when the last batch was 91..etc
Was the 91 batch considered a pre-production batch?
I googled translated it.. and it is unclear to me..
And are the new batch considered to be stationed at an other airbase beside Liptesk training center?
It looks like the first serial Su-35S has been accepted by the VVS. Interestingly enough the article claims that the airplane can see targets at ranges of 400 km. No specification of what kinds of targets, and of course no mention of the fact that Russia has no munitions with comparable range.
It's indeed interesting that the firs serial aircraft has been accepted when there were not even any news about a first flight of the aircraft (production variant). The 400 km rage claim isn't new and is said to be against a 3 sqm target at high altitudes (no background clutter) in optimal conditions and a specific long range search mode with limited FOV.
The Su-35S, with some enhanced feature from the previous two prototypes.
The gun muzzle is the same as on Pak-Fa prototype.
And a new bulge on port side on radome, some kind of sensor?
And the canopy glass is coated with something.
I saw that, and I'm refusing to believe this insanity until I see the first deliveries start.
Right now they're purchasing Mi-8ATMSh, Mi-8MTV-5, planning to purchase Mi-38, and now planning Ka-60s too, all for the light-medium transport niche. Lewis Carol with his giant caterpillars takes the back seat to this.
I was recently wondering about the markings on Russian military planes and helicopters. The markings are painted in multiple different colors (red, yellow, white, light blue, black). What is the "system" behind these colors? Do they denote force, unit, role? Insights would be appreciated.
