mukul you are letting patriotism cloud your intellect. There have been lots of air battles which were fought in far worse and dangerous environments. Just flying at a high altitude and dropping bombs is not my idea of a hostile environment.

You also saw what happened to the IAF aircrafts which entered Pakistani airspace. So you can see it was much more hostile on the other side of the LoC.

Hopefully there is a change in the wind though. A conflict free region is in both countries interests.

India has an emerging responsibility as its military power grows
Exactly. Both the countries need to work together instead of arguing about past conflicts.

There was no "battle". IAF was just carrying out bombing runs. Much dangerous place was across the border into Pakistan where the IAF lost its machines.

High altitude bombing doesnt judge the capabilities of any airforce, espacially on those areas where there is no serious threat in terms of opposing aircraft and SAMs.
The IAF had twice voilated Pakistan's airspace and had paid the price accordingly in the form of its two Migs shot down. Had it evaded the SAMs and penetrated deeper it would have met the PAF defenders and then its capabilities would have judged.
I am not sitting here wishing that their must be a clash between these airforces but i am only emphasizing on this point that we cannot judge an airforce capabilities when it is fighting its internal battle and that also against relatively targets which are of no threat in modern warfare.

yea thats what i am saying ,,, flying those plane in high altitude was difficult and mostly in the mountain terain ... where a single split second will result in collision with rock ......... flying plane in vally and norrow passage at high allitiude was where engine was not work in full consition was difficult ............ and single split second miss in truning the plane measn moving across the border ....

IAF has to operate in narrow margin of 15Km and also had to done bombing close to LOC ............ Conditions under which they oprated was diffcult ...... it not like flying in the clean cloud and drop the bomb .......... threath from cross borader SAM and stinger was also a constant threat
