Right now I am trying to find some good books to read & look at about the type of defensive homes built in England and Scotland along the borders from roughly the 14th century through to the 17th century. What I am even more specifically interested in is finding out more about bastles and peel or pele towers with descriptions of the typical layout or even diagrams being particularly sought.
