The path towards a nuclear North Asia continues as well as confirmation that their proposed nuke boats will be built in South Korea after all.

It seems unlikely that Japan will sit still, especially with Takaichi at the helm.

For the last few years, I already see The Economist are more in tune with their own political agenda, rather then respected economics and market assesment. This video on China Defence shown that.

Most Everyone in East and Southeast and India bassically raise their own defense, does not all of them in one voice to see China increase in defence, means they will be in conflict soon with PLA. They see more trade with China is also equally important, and China has been huge benefactor of free trade in the last 30 years. Thus many also see China defence and other Asia increase and build up, as part of their own economics growth in Asia.

The Economist on other hand even call China continue growing trade surplus as China problem, base on what I see as thinkin that China will be the security threat and will want to replace Western (especially US superiority).

While many in Asia even shown concern, but also see China surplus coming from their investment. The huge surplus with Vietnam and Malaysia for example come as Chinese industry investment in those countries, bring materials from their China supply chain to become finished products in China factories in SEA. Those later on become SEA exports to other markets.

Rather then blaming low value renimbi, something that being blame by US and the Economist continue follow it, why don't they are looking the main reasons. China have the most complete integrated production supply chains, and that's what make it become the most efficient.

Which why I see so far most Asia prefer to join in rather then confront China supply chain. Thus see China as source of business partnership. Something different then Euro steps toward Russia, as Asia is not Euro and Russia is not China.

New Japan hard right wing PM is the only one so far that say want to involve militarily if China invade Taiwan. Something that others in Asia so far even ROK, decide to stay away. I don't know how average Japanese feel about their PM standing on Taiwan issue, but looking to their media and forums, it is divide in the middle.
