The Marina Militare has completed the qualification of the MBDA SAAM-ESD PPA air defence missile system with the successful completion of an Aster 30 missile firing on board the Giovanni delle Bande Nere (P 434), first PPA in the “Full" configuration.

If i'm not wrong also the "Light+" vessels have the SYLVER A50 installed for the Aster 15 and 30 missiles.

This claim by X Account of an Italian defense enthusiasts/online journalist seems quite ambitious. However it is also related to recent drive from Fincantieri to try to offer FREMM GP to Southeast Asia market (Indonesia and Philippines), as related to recent Italian MinDef drive to replace GP with EVO version soon.

6 Destroyers, 20 Frigates size, and 12 Corvette/OPV size combatant is quite formidable for Mediterranean. However I suspect will be challenging not only in Budget but also in manning to be done in a decade time.

Marco Florian is really not a good source, his posts are basically click-bait.
This "2035 fleet prediction" is simply impossible, Italy has neither the men nor the requirements to build all these ships.

I don't see where they'll all come from. Start with the destroyers: currently 3 (down from 4), of which the 2 Horizons will have life extensions, & Francesco Mimbelli will be replaced by 2 DDX, making 4. No plans I've heard of for 2 more.

Then the frigates & frigate-size ships (i.e. PPA/Multi-Purpose Combat Ship). Currently have 8 FREMM (10 built, 2 sold to Egypt) & 2 ancient Maestrale class, with a 9th Fremm undergoing trials & a 10th fitting out, to replace the Maestrales. In addition, 2 FREMM EVO have been ordered, making a total of 12 FREMM frigates - but it's been reported that Italy has formally notified Greece that the first 2 FREMM will be available to buy when the 2 FREMM EVO are commissioned, which if the Greeks bite (they're reviewing the offer) knocks the frigate total back down to 10. Plus, of course, the frigate-sized PPA/MPCS, of course, but to have a total of 20 frigate-sized ships would require 10 of them, & there's no plan for that. The number's still 7. 4 currently in service (6 built, 2 sold to Indonesia) & 1 more building. 2 more will be needed to reach the originally planned 7.

Thanks for the clarification. Yes, I put it in here as Marco Florian claim he got the information from RID media. I also heard from Indonesian and Pinoy sources that Fincantieri agents currently offering 2 and up to 4 FREMM GP Frigates to SEA market as Italy seems want to replace them with additional FREMM Evo soon. Thus Italy (according to Fincantieri agents) want to get rid of them to reduce operational budget and manning in preparation for more FREMM Evo.

Still as I put it on previous post, the number seems ambitious and wondering if it is achievable by only a decade timetable as he claim. In paper Italy have 4 FREMM ASW and Florian sources claim it will be 6. In theory perhaps 2 of GP version can be converted to ASW version, but building up to 6 Evo version seems what I see ambitious. The 2 PPA Evo from what I gather seems the replacement from the 2 PPA sold to Indonesia.

Additional 2 DDX and 4 U212 NSF that I also wondering if there are also plan on that.

The two new FREMM building, replacements for the two GP ships sold to Egypt, have been called "multiruolo", & have greater ASW capability than the older GP FREMMs, & that is also planned for the FREMM EVO. ASW-optimised hull, bow sonar (in all FREMMs), towed sonar (not in Italian GP ships), etc.

"Thanks to the new FREMM hybrid ASuW/ASW configuration, the Italian Navy will increment its escort fleet of ASW platforms from four to six ship "
New FREMMs And that doesn't include the EVOs.

According to several sources Italy is in advanced talks with Greece regarding the delivery of 2 FREMM frigates, likely the first 2 built for the italian navy.
The deal, as reported by those sources, would include the delivery of the ships (after the new FREMM-EVOs are commissioned), works on the frigates and some sort involvement of Fincantieri in greek shipyards.
The talks are apparently in very advanced stages, since yesterday the greek defence minister was shown a FREMM by italian navy chief of staff.
