When it comes to the likes of Al Zarquawi or Bin Laden or whatever taking him out isnt worth risking the lives of even 1 coalition serviceman. Better to let the bomb do it imo.TrangleC said:Take the killing of Al Zarquawi or however this top terrorist in Iraq was named.
And what do they do? Do they send special forces or at least the normal forces to go and get him?
No. All they could come up with was droping another bomb into another civilian living area.
Funny how `heavy losses` are described these days..marcvs75 said:I read a news article about the EGOZ elite unit, part of the Golani brigade. This is an unit specialised to fight guerilla's like Hezbollah. In recent fighting in S-Lebanon they took heavy losses (at least 5 dead).
Who knows more about this unit ? Is this a full batallion ?
Catching such a man is nevertheless the better option. Creating another mortyr and with such a display of incapability is not the message you want to get accross in a guerilla war.MilSpex said:^^great video Kams. one of the best combat videos Ive seen.

marcvs75 seems to think this unit might be battalion strength (around 1000), whether all the KIA were lost in the same team isn`t clear. My comment was assuming that the unit is larger than one team.TrangleC said:As far as i know 7 man is a average unit size for such special forces and 5 out of 7-9 would be quite heavy.
I quoted the wrong posting. Sorry. I'm used to that the quote-button is on the upper end of a posting window from other boards.MilSpex said:So what are you saying? So in the house, when those two guerillas fired through the door of the room they were in and started tossing grenades into the hallway where the Israelis were that the Israelis were supposed to try to capture these guys alive? hahaha.
