"Its an old US tactic to flood another country with equipment of US origin and then use the spares as a tool of fiddling with that country's political and social structures"

Dumb comment! Most major weapons supplying countries do the same thing, e.g the French, Chinese. The US is far from being alone in this world in wanting to exert political influence through trade.

I think you cited some very wrong examples to get the blame 'off' the US!! China has never stopped supporting and supplying the countries with defense related equipment once it commits itself to them (I dont know of any exceptions but that's their general rule). French, as Gary once said on one of the threads, their defense industry acts like a 'whore', they dont give a damn! If you got the money, they'll sell (in almost all situations)!! :smokingc:

They should have ejected but often when there is a porblem onboard and ur close to landing u try to make it. Many pilots die this way.

agreed, plus the french gov aggressively subsidises GIAT, DCN and their aeropace entities.

Support and maint on french aircraft is certainly designed to recover losses on any discounted initial sales.

I've been in situations where we have sought clarification of submitted process as they were so "different" to other tenderers.
