you don't expect the first indegenious tank(Arjun) to be the best in the world, do you?
the Arjun programme although plagued by major delays has many state of the art technologies, and can serve as a great technology demonstrator. what is needed is refinement.
and this is the case with many indian defence programmes. what rest of the countries (russia, USA, UK, germany) have achieved after decades of development cannot be expected to be done on the first tank by india.
You will see that the successive developments by DRDO will be much more comparable to the best.
