I have been to China and Taiwan.
Why shouldn't the people of Taiwan decide to live their own lives and have their own country?
If the majority of them is for total independence ok. If not it is also ok. These are the basics of democracy.
Why should the mainland have the right to tell them what they should do or not do?

And this:

I have no right to comment on my motherland

is what I would call the wrong way.
Why should somebody not be allowed or has not the right to say what he things about the country he lives in?

well, it things goes like that, you ll see a north US and a south US, UK without north Ireland,Kashmir become a peaceful little state, turkey lost it s Kurdish area, russia and Chechen turn out to be peaceloving neighbour.You can t blame us want to reunion , for It s universe truth that none country can tolerant division.

and will you criticise your own mother who has brought you up in front of others, I criticise china a lot in domestic forum , because I want her become better, I defend china a lot in foreign forum ,also because i want her become better. And I can say many foreigner criticise china with blinkers on.

I'm not sure the comparisons with US civil war and Northern Ireland stick. They are/were essentially not about sovereignty issues.

If US so eager to hammer all the communist why all the president must come to china once and sing highly for the so called cooperate-ship----if not friendship, If US don t count cost , why they don t assult DPRK and solve the nuclear crisis once and for all,.and Iran , russia, i believe uncle sam want to smush them in his dreams .but none of them get really pinched . We have many ways to persude america to negotiate, and i don t think americans want a globle war.------that a insufficent of democracy. If ever taiwan want to announce the independence , US will be the first to press them back. that happens a lot of time when US president warn taiwan leader not to brought up trouble . as for other country , you fall to mention even some minor war, many america ally would not permit US airforce use their base to attack ,
needless to say china is one of the most influencing country in the world .
US can only rely on its own carrier .
by the way , in chinese view,military prowess is not for fight but for negotiatation , if we havenot a strong navy , then US will surely interfere ,but if we can convince them our force will hurt them a lot, them will weigh the cost . just like the sting of bee, it is not for attack (a bee can only use it once), but for threat.

well then maybe you can explain why does,usa sell to taiwan f-16 fighting falcons(considered to be one of the best fighters in the history of aviation),p3c orions ,main battle tanks,kidd class destroyers and patriot surface to air misisles at a highly discounted rate,taiwan is also interested in the possibility of acquiring the jsf.
