Is the MOAB delivered from a Hurc ala the 'daisycutter'? Dont think Ive seen any footage of the bombs release...

Back on topic though... definatley a win for the Elite troops. An advatage in training, equiptment and numbers makes them a shoe in too me.:)

if there are important captives in the base then it is inevitable that maybe 1 or 2 might get killed in the fighting but the guerillas will still lose.

1/ create defence in depth around small base with base combatants carrying glocks

2/create mutiple mg pits and rotate randomly the m60 with a fake standing at other pits and booby trap .

3/ conduct ambushes to reduce offensive force

4/ booby trap return routes of troops and harass

5/snatch and grab weapons from fallen

6/send snipers on recon and elim of high profile targets and to provide focus point for attacking force, when force is fully on attack towards snipers pits conduct flanking movements to reduce forces and recover weapons and intel

7/end of story

The elite troops would most likely win. What was misleading is you (marxist) said 'elite troops that have low experience on guerrila warfare). In my mind, 'elite' troops, a.k.a. SpecOps, do have guerrila experience. I one of the training objectives of SEALs is to be familiar with guerrila wrfr. for either use by them or to train other forces.

Basically I'm just saying if you mean elite, then you mean elite and so they have the experience they need to operate well in a guerrila environment. If you mean regular troops, then they're regulars and have some or light experience in guerrila wrfr.

Are you active, discharged or retired?

None of the above. I'm still in high school but it's up there on the list of things I want to do. I'm still deciding which branch, as it is. I used to be and still sort of am leaning toward the SEALs, so I've studied the training, past missions, etc.
If your going spec ops you might as well join the best of the best.

I'm working on the details. I keep changing my mind as to which branch, how long, etc. I've studied the SEALs for a long time and have my mind set on them but I have to take a look at other options.

Aaaah.
Than maybe a normal unit first would be good.
To get a feeling for the army.
Maybe Armored Corps? ;) :D

Honestly, the problem is I like every branch in different ways. I like the power of working on navy surface ships, like the idea of fighting in the sky in the AF, like the idea of joining an army infantry unit, and like the thought of being in the SF, either army or navy. I keep trying to rule one or the other out but then I just find it appealing a week later.

It's definitely the military. I just don't know which part yet :unknown, and, unfortunately, I have to make the decision soon.

If you join the Navy, what kind of basic training do you get?
It is the same as Army/Air Force except it is indoors. Great Mistakes is where the enlisted learn the values of the Navy. If he jumps to Army then he will have a hard time adjusting to Navy life... just because he would be a SEAL doesn't make him exempt from Navy policy and procedures that he needs to learn there.

Indoors?
No basic infantry training out there in the woods?
Or do you mean different things happening in the theoretical area?

Whatever you decided I would suggest you look at the most wanted MOS/Rates in the service of your choice and pick one of those to go into. I say this because recruiters have a tendency not to deliever as promised. If you pick from among the highest demand you are gauranteed what you expect to get. We don't want you to be slated for spec ops and you end up scrubbing the head. You also want to look at which MOS/Rates have a high level of advancement... many of them are dead-enders.
