They're getting them cheap, supposedly, because they're the ones meant for Syria, that now can't be delivered, and a fat credit line too. But I really have to wonder about the wisdom of it. They can get used MiG-29s on the cheap, and upgrade them to a comparable level. They can even overhaul their existing MiG-29 airframes. Instead they're replacing MiG-29s with... new MiG-29s? Rosoboroneksport probably slipped it down their throat using the credit line as an incentive.
