Boat spotted at Penn's Landing, PA

I think that there is a possibility to mount weapons. While a lot of operations are covert there are times that there is a need for weapons. Most of the past boats have had parachute and weapons capability, I don't see a reason why this one wouldn't.

While I agree with you, on covert missions, how silence is needed there are different missions that special forces teams fulfill.

This link is to a newspaper clipping from United States Marine Inc.'s website stating that the contract award was given to their company. Time frame for testing seems to fit.

I concur on what you said. There could be an need for bigger caliber weapons during some of the missions, just in case, so to speak. But more often than not these operatives desire to be much lighter for quick in and out operations. The newspaper article didn't say much but I understand the objective.

That is why they are mounts. The option to equip. I agree with you that there are missions that wouldn't require weapons of that caliber, but if they are being used to guard oil plats in the NAS then they would probably be packing something.

Unless you can get USMI to say, "Yep, that is our prototype" and they probably won't, then this whole conversation is speculation. We can piece things together and throw out our predictions, but we will probably have to wait until production (if it makes it there) for specifications and other information.

Yeah, I agree. The final boat configuration and armaments could well be different than those we have seen so far. It would be a configuration evolution until they are satisfied with the boat's performance. They will probably be introducing some exotic materials we haven't come across before also. The true specifications will not be publicized too, but it will come out eventually but not for a long time?
