Very recent announcement in Russian press suggests that the БПС 3БМ32 «Вант» and 3БМ48 «Свинец» rounds have been deemed to be substandard to current threat requirements and will be replaced. The threat was judged to be new M1A2 tanks being penetrated at 2,500m.
