thanx
Yes, Kongo has AEGIS
I've already posted the country abbreviations with my last post
The Brits will use PAAMS with Aster-30and European Radar/Electronics
The Germans will use the same Thales APAR/SMart combination on Brandenburg class that the Dutch deploy on board Zeven Provincien class (LCF), with Standard SM2 and ESSM.
Neither currently has use for AEGIS.

No longer a candidate but still very nice: the Dutch LCF

Slightly incorrect. Brandenburg class is a ship dedicated to ASW and has no use for APAR. Their contribution to air defense is limited. The german ships using APAR for fleet air defense belong to the Sachsen class.
Germany has no use for Aegis since the APAR, combined with the ships Sewaco combat system, carries out the very same task as the SPY-1 + Aegis combination of the US.

i know the type 45 uk though, but isn't that a destroyer?
The terms "destroyer" and "frigate" today are mere political ones and most modern ships from both classes are completely exchangable. For example the Sachsen class ships are considered destroyers due to their mission profile and size, yet they are called frigates.

Correct, I did mean Sachsen class which pretty much has the same AAW fit as the Dutch LCF. The Germans proposed an AEGIS equipped version of the Sachsen class for the Australian AAW destroyer program. Which IMHO illustrates the inherent flexibility of the MEKO concepts employed in Sachsen class. That plus ANZAC history should give them credibility and a chance even if Aussie preference may be for A.Burke-like ship.
