the jf-17 and the lca are upper 3rd to lower 4th generation a/c right now, upgrades pending

well the article basically states that pak's future procurements will be
the jf-17 with significant western avionics
and j-10 is MOST likely (again u could never be sure about paf) to the hi-tech a/c paf is going to get with western tech, although air chief remarked about how chinese avionics has progressed and pak might look into sino avionics option also

For pete's sakes stop comparing the Jf-17 and Lca! The thread is just about Jf-17 so I'd be glad if we all kept to that. :smokingc:

two things PAF ACM also Said that PAK will never operate a pure chinese AC, But they may choose to Use Avionics Components from there systems. this means IRTS ECM and Etc, PAF has its own Avionics, the thing PAF has been working on till now is Hardware, now that they have decided for a good Platform they need to Work on the Software side to add functionality, by doing some Algorithm programing, the Chinese would need Guidance from PAF if they need to progress and thats what PAF is doing right now. Algorithm embodies functionality its not something that just any one can sit and Produce, its computability and Cost of computability is key, it requires a different type of mind set.

wooooooooo...........lots of heated discussion about LCA and JF-17 here.

There is no point in comparing them, one has finish testing and is ready for service and the other one is still in early stages of testing. Even if LCA came out superior to JF-17 the small body of LCA would limit its room for upgrades. I won't be suprised if the later JF-17 has a lot higher performance than LCA.

This intermittent comparison of the LCA and the JF-17 is a pointless exercise.

Both planes are physically different, and as such each bears its own performance and operational limitations due to it's design.

Planes are designed around a mission, and reflect the battle doctrine of their nations military planners.

Just because all cars usually have 4 wheels doesn't mean that they will be driven daily for the same kind of work. Each car has passenger and load limitations, one will be better for long distance driving, one is better for short fast sprint work in the city. Both will fail some measure of test trying to do the other cars normal driving role.

To some extent, it's the same with these planes.

Thanks for that post Gary! I'm in debt to you for putting an end to this pointless feud over Lca and Jf-17 comparison! :smokingc:
