Did not mean to offend anyone! I want to join the Irish army more than anything to serve for my country but can't unless they decide to recruit again but I don't really want to wait around for the number of years it will take them too.

That is why I don't really mind what military I join, and I can understand that you think you should fight for what Country you love, but I would not mind fighting for any country in Europe or dying for them, I have been trying to get in the military since I finished school and already got turned down by the Irish and British.

That is why I am looking for alternatives, I have nothing against the British army but since I already got turned down by them after a long process and now I am able to re-apply I was just curious as to what other armies I could apply for. Which you might see as a lack of commitment, but I would honestly fight or die for whatever country that would take me as long as I don't have to wait 5 - 10 years before I can join, which you might see as an easy option but as long as I get in I don't care.

Didn't mean to seem like I was having a pop, esp. as I was unable to serve, (an eye problem).
Oh, BTW, I've got a friend at church who served in the FFL back in the 80's; He says he wouldn't recommend it; he's won't say why though! (Problem with authority, maybe!).

Anyway. Good luck with getting in.:)

a family friend of ours has been going through the Australian Army recruiting process for over 18 months now. he's passed everything psych and medical wise, but is still waiting for a date for enlistment. its just dragging on and on, so he's staying on jackerooing(sic) in the outback. and he's an Aus citizen. for a non citizen, the wait would be...?
