MOSCOW: Two tactical ballistic missiles Tochka have been successfully launched at the Kapustin Yar test site in southern Russia’s Astrakhan Region within the framework of a tactical exercise of a Siberian Military District’s missile unit, an official of the military district’s public relations and information service told Tass on Wednesday.
According to the official, in the course of many days of training and tactical exercises the personnel fulfilled various military tasks in unfamiliar terrain.
At the final phase of the exercise they carried out a group launch of two Tochka missiles, the most complicated one in technical terms. Their performance was rated as excellent.
The tactical mobile missile system Tochka-M is one of the best and most efficient weapons of Russian ground forces. It can hit targets at a distance of 70 kilometers.
Russian ground forces have held ten tactical exercises with excellent launches of 12 Tochka missiles at Kapustin Yar range since January 1. All launches were impeccable.
