Call to Duty – Boots on the Ground
The 21st Century necessitates a highly versatile Army that can handle a diverse array of operations and missions. The combination of transformation (building a modular Army) and continuous modernization (fielding Future Combat Systems, new aviation systems, and over 300 other advanced technologies and systems) is methodically producing the future Force.
First published in 2001, The Army Modernization Plan (AMP) serves as a guide designed to be used in concert with other key Army documents such as The Army Plan, Army Posture Statement, and Army Game Plan to describe continued efforts to transform the Army.
FY06 was a pivotal year for unit transformation throughout the Force. This year's AMP recaps 2006 accomplishments prior to describing the way ahead for 2007 and beyond. It is a reference for issues relating to the Army's ongoing efforts to build, equip, and support the modular force
