http://www.haaretzdaily.com, BEIRUT – A convoy of around 40 Syrian trucks crossed the Lebanese border early Thursday towards the Syrian territories, thus completing a third day of a limited pullout from Lebanon, Lebanese security sources said.
“Trucks loaded with ammunition, soldiers and tanks crossed the Masnaa area and headed towards the Syrian territories,” the sources said.
“The Syrians have finished evacuating posts in Aramoun, Khaldeh and Showeifat … by doing so they would have finished the first stage of their pullout which started on Tuesday,” Lebanese army sources said on Wednesday.
“The second stage will start from north Lebanon in the coming 48 hours,” they added.
The sources added that so far around 300 troops have left Lebanon for Syria and some ten tanks plus 15 trucks loaded with ammunition.
