, South Korea plans to build a domestic missile defense system to shoot down short-and medium-range missiles launched by North Korea in case of a war on the Korean Peninsula, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said on Wednesday (Dec. 20).
The scheme is part of the JCS' military-power development strategies to thwart growing missile and nuclear threats posed by the North, a JCS spokesman said.
