Saab AB, In connection with a Gripen deal with Denmark, Saab is planning extensive co-operation with Danish industry. Saab has signed a large number of agreements for over 100 percent of the contractual value.
In the next few years Denmark will be renewing its aircraft fleet and replacing the current F-16. The deal will cover as many as 48 fighter aircraft and Saab is offering the Gripen Next Generation, a NATO interoperable fighter that will meet, or exceed, all Danish requirements. Delivery can be from 2016, or earlier if Denmark so wishes.
In connection to that, Saab is planning for extensive co-operation with Danish industry generating work openings and technology transfers to Denmark within the defence industry as well as a number of other businesses, such as within the environmental area. The co-operation agreement with the largest Danish defence company, Terma, is an important part of the co-operation valued at more than 10 billion DKK (1.9 billion USD).
An extensive track record in delivering commitments
Saab’s approach to industrial co-operation covers a broad range of long term sustainable business activities focused not only on the product, but also on delivering investment, technology transfer, manufacturing, technical support, training and scientific co-operation beneficial to Danish industry and the Danish nation.

Saab offers Danish industry a profitable and very competitive industrial co-operation package that exceeds the requirement of 100 percent of the order value of any possible Gripen deal”, says Saab’s CEO Åke Svensson. “The industrial collaboration carries with it an historic opportunity for broader Scandinavian co-operation”.

An important Danish Gripen co-operation agreement signed with Terma
As part of this extensive industrial co-operation, Saab has signed a co-operation agreement with Terma within the areas of aviation, space, defence and civil security. The agreement is spread over 10-15 years. Parts of the agreement are dependent on Denmark selecting Gripen Next Generation for its air force.
“The agreement between Terma and Saab covers very interesting and long term perspectives, both in relation to Denmark’s purchase of new fighter aircraft and to a number of other business areas that can be advantageous to both parties”, says Jens Maaløe, CEO of Terma.
