http://www.bday.co.za/, A South African avionics company has won new orders from BAE Systems of the United Kingdom to supply crash recorders for military aircraft, the two firms announced on Wednesday.
Under the R70 million contract, Aerospace Monitoring Systems (AMS) would instal aircraft “black box” crash recorders and fatigue measuring systems into 116 new Hawk jet trainer aircraft.
The aircraft would be delivered to the Indian Air Force, Britain's Royal Air Force and Bahrain, AMS and BAE said.
“We are delighted with the achievements of our partnership with AMS,” said Jonathan Walton, executive vice president of BAE Systems in South Africa.
AMS designs, develops, manufactures and supplies high-technology products and solutions enabling aircraft operators to efficiently manage the maintenance and servicing of their aircraft and components.
BAE Systems designs, manufactures and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, armoured vehicles, radar, avionics, communications, electronics, guided weapon systems and a range of other defence products.
