Russian arms exporting firm Rosoboronexport, owned by state conglomerate Rostec, sold more than $13 billion worth of military products last year, the head of Rostec said on Monday.
“In 2014, we sold a little more than $13 billion worth of arms,” Rostec head Sergey Chemezov told journalists at the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX), which started Sunday in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
“For 2015, we are also planning a little more than $13 billion,” he said, adding that: “Our orders portfolio stands at $38.5 billion.”
Russia has offered Iran to buy Antey-2500 anti-ballistic missiles instead of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, the head of Russian state conglomerate Rostec said on Monday, adding that Tehran was considering the offer.
“We have offered Antey-2500 instead of S-300. Now they are thinking. No decision has been made yet,” Chemezov said.
Russia and Belarus have signed a deal at the Middle East’s largest arms show to deliver 12 Russian Mi-17 helicopters to the republic, Rostec head said.
“Yesterday, we signed a contract with Belarusians to deliver 12 Mi-17 helicopters,” Chemezov told journalists.
