MOSCOW: A Russian military official said Thursday that Russia will continue exporting Tor M1 anti-aircraft missile systems despite the United States' allegations that Russia has been violating regulations of the supply of military-use products, a Russian military official said Thursday.
“We have the right under all international agreements to sell this system,” said Mikhail Dmitriyev, the head of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation.
He called the U.S. allegations ungrounded and said Russia always complied with military supply agreements.
The United States earlier expressed its concern over the contract deliveries of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran.
“The [U.S.] concern was undoubtedly political,” Dmitriyev said.
Russia will supply 29 Tor M1 anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran under the $700-million contract.
