Lithuanian Ministry of Defence, National Defence Ministry signed contract with a German company “Heckler & Koch GmbH” on purchasing automatic rifles G-36 on November 22.
“Purchasing automatic rifles is another step of transition of Armed Forces of Lithuania from old Russian armament to modern weapons complying with the standards of NATO,” – said Undersecretary of National Defence Ministry Artur Ploksto.
G-36 automatic rifles of two modifications, under-barrel projectors, sets of duplicate parts, sets of repair and maintenance tools, teaching for users and instructors are included into the sum of contract of 44.5 m Lt (VAT not counted).
