Raytheon, WALTHAM: Raytheon Company's proven approach to a fully-integrated critical missions systems environment will be prominently on display at the 2006 Farnborough Air Show, opening Monday, July 17.
“Raytheon's unique ability to integrate critical mission systems is in high demand around the world in both defence and civil aerospace industry sectors. Our customers are increasingly relying on Raytheon's extensive domain knowledge of a wide array of aerospace systems and architectures to tie it all together into a seamless, integrated mission system,” said Tom Culligan, executive vice president and CEO of Raytheon International.
At this year's show, Raytheon's chalet and the Farnborough Airfield tarmac will be the site of comprehensive press briefings demonstrating a variety of innovative technology programs that support Raytheon's commitment to the warfighter:
On July 17 at 9 a.m., Raytheon representatives will brief the press on “ASTOR: ISTAR Capability For the 21st Century” on the tarmac alongside the ASTOR Sentinel Mk1 aircraft. The Airborne Stand-off Radar (ASTOR) program is an advanced ground surveillance system, which will be jointly operated by the Royal Air Force and the British Army. The system provides a highly-effective, 24-hour surveillance and target acquisition capability. It delivers wide area, all weather surveillance and reconnaissance imagery in near real time for national, theatre and tactical headquarters. Program and technology managers from both Raytheon Systems Limited and Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems businesses will discuss the unprecedented surveillance capabilities the ASTOR system will provide for U.K. forces. Raytheon will deliver a full system brief for both aircraft and ground stations, with an opportunity to view the Sentinel Mk1 aircraft and the Tactical Ground Station. This will be the first time both air and ground segments of the ASTOR system have been available to the press.
Following ASTOR, Raytheon will host a 10:15 a.m. press briefing on “Net- enabled Customer Solutions: Taking Mission Systems Integration to the Next Level,” highlighting the exploding net-centric environment. The briefing will focus on Raytheon's worldwide experience with complex architectures and the System of Elements
