, ISLAMABAD: While acknowledging the reality that Pakistan possesses nuclear capability, France has offered Islamabad three concrete proposals in the area of nuclear non-proliferation.
“We have been following this development (nuclear proliferation) very closely and we are prepared to be helpful in opening a dialogue with Pakistan on this issue,” said the French Foreign Minister, Dominique de Villepin while addressing a news briefing with his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Kasuri here on Saturday.
“There are three ways to go about it: first strengthen the existing export control system, ensure greater transparency in close cooperation with the IAEA and participation of Pakistan in international efforts on nuclear non proliferation with the UN Security Council,” he said.
