, NATO has asked to buy aircraft engines and other gear for as many as four C-17 transport planes being acquired by a consortium of NATO allies, the Pentagon said Dec. 8.
The possible sale includes two Pratt and Whitney F117-PW-100 spare engines, four infrared countermeasure systems and night vision goggles with a total value of as high as $589 million, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said.
