DENVER: Consulate General of Canada in Denver, EVENT DETAILS:

For more than 40 years, thousands of U.S. and Canadian military members have worked side by side to protect the airspace of these two vast countries through NORAD — a combined Canada-U.S. military command located in Colorado Springs. To demonstrate Canada's strong commitment to the critical issue of North American security, the Consulate General of Canada in Denver will host a Canadian delegation specializing in space technologies in the civil, commercial and security sectors during next week's 23rd National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs. The symposium — widely regarded as the premier space industry gathering with speakers and panels on critical policy and programming issues — will take place at the Broadmoor Hotel from April 9 – 12, 2007.
During the conference, Canadian Consul General Michael Fine will co-host a reception with the Colorado Space Coalition, the Colorado Space Business Roundtable and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Canadian reception will take place on Wednesday, April 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Carriage Museum (press photo-op). This event will provide a venue for Canadian companies to meet with Colorado space industry leaders.
“Canada is the United States' principal ally and is a key contributor to North American trade prosperity, border security and the international efforts against terrorism,” explained Canadian Consul General Michael Fine. “The Canadian Space Industry and the Government of Canada are key contributors in these efforts. Our Canadian organizations participating in next week's symposium are internationally recognized for their world-leading capabilities. That's why our office in Denver works to encourage open trade in this sector, which benefits both of our countries, keeping our citizens safe and maintaining our high quality of life,” said Fine.
