, The Ministry of Defence today welcomed the publication of the House of Commons Defence Committee's report on the Defence Industrial Strategy.
Following the format of previous reports, the Committee looked at a wide range of issues, including defence industrial restructuring; the maritime sector; competition and partnering arrangements; research and technology; and international technology transfer.
The Department notes that the HCDC reports that “the MoD has done well in implementing the Defence Industrial Strategy”.
Welcoming the report, Defence Minister Lord Drayson said:
“We will be responding formally in due course, but I am pleased that the HCDC supports many of the key approaches we are following as part of the Defence Industrial Strategy. We continue to work hard to see the DIS implemented in full, and I am very pleased that the HCDC recognises this commitment in its report.”
