The Jagdpanther was a tank destroyer variant of the Pzkpfw. V Panther. It mounted an 88mm gun in a well-sloped forward mounted barbette. There was no turret. It was an extremely high quality vehicle with superb firepower, mobility, and armour. Its sole purpose was the destruction of enemy tanks. Designed to shoot at other heavy tanks at long ranges, the only weapon other than its main gun is a MG34 set in a ball mount in the greatly sloped glacis plate.
