In the middle of the village Houffalize lies the " Place January 1945" with a collection of 5 memorial plaques.
Houffalize was an important strategic spot during the battle of the bulge.
Here was the meeting point of some US divisions before they attack together the german border ( around 30 km/20 miles away)
