The Atlantiques of the Pakistan Navy are based in PNS Mehran located in Karachi. The plane is capable of ASW and AShW tasks. One of the unarmed Atlantiques was criminally shot down over Pakistani territory by Indian Air Force in the 1990s. The pilot who shot down the defenceless aircraft later died in an aircrash.
