South China Sea (June 8, 2006) - Machinery Repairman 2nd Class Donald Usher assigned to Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa Drone Detachment, removes a jet assisted take off (JATO) from a BQM-74E aerial target on the flight deck of amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46) during the Singapore phase of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT). CARAT is an annual series of bilateral maritime training exercises between the United States and six Southeast Asia nations designed to build relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces.
