Pacific Ocean (July 18, 2006) - Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV) depart the dock transport ship USS Rushmore LSD 47) with Marines aboard in support of the Rim of the Pacific 2006 Exercise. The Marines are performing an amphibious assault exercise. Eight nations are participating in RIMPAC, the world's largest biennial maritime exercise. Conducted in the waters off Hawaii, RIMPAC brings together military forces from Australia, Canada, Chile, Peru, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
