FYI
If you get an error message "an error has occurred" or something similar randomly while browsing the forum. Just know that I am aware of the issue and it is something which will be fixed once forum is upgraded to latest version. Testing the upgrade so its just matter of time, days/weeks until upgrade.

homepage has been updated. Now you can read in light mode or dark mode (top right corner), few other enhancements on the article page (increase font size on the fly, etc.) cleaner layout.

The dark/light mode will be implemented into forum soon.

It’s certainly a bit different, still trying to tell my way around but not too different. Looks a bit busier tho

I did like the old blue tags for new posts on the side as it stood out a bit more. Also I don’t know if I imagined it when the site came back on line I noticed that at the bottom of the page where the page numbers are I’m sure I saw a button that you could press that would take you to the last new past within that thread if it seems to be gone now, most likely read it wrong but would make it easier as when you go back the new post symbol is gone, but overall I like it

Thanks for the feedback!

Once you enter a thread, there is "jump to new" on top. Also, clicking on the date in the topic list, will take you to the latest posts as well.

Hi, seems I can't get to latest post on Brazilian Navy that I put, also the response from Assail. I can read it through link in the email that the site send. However if going through Front Page, I can't get the latest post.

Also, seems if I log out, has to go to Browser version to log in again.

Hi, thanks for reporting. when you click the thread link, what happens when you click "jump to new" (top right) ? It should take you to the first new post since your last visit.

Some elements of the forum are cached (to deliver content in fast manner) or stored in the browser cache - just perform hard refresh in your browsers (CTRL+R or CTRL+F5) to refresh the page/website.

Seems I found my problem. If I go to Defencetalk direct through the link from notification email, then I went to the refresh sites.

However if I go to the Defencetalk sites through the web, then the sites I got directed is from the last visit. Thus I can't see what's new.
I usually come to Defencetalk using my Phone, I rarely using internet with my PC now. Is there difference on mobile sites and Web based sites (frm PC) ?

Ahh, I see. Seems I've to refresh again after I put a post or changing pages. Is it normal with the new Config ? Cause I don't have to refresh every time I make post before.

That seems to be the behavior because the page before the post is cached so when you refresh, then it caches the thread with new reply. I am looking into this so server tells the browser that there is new version/update to the page.

I’m actually liking the new and improved version, from the old where before I clicked on new post then generally clicked on the second last page of the thread I want to view then scrolled down to I see the old blue tags of new post from then on. Now I just hit new posts then click on the general header and that takes me to the first new post without looking for it, it’s great:)

Still having problems with the site not showing latest replies and posts. I have found to see them i have to delete the Defence talk site from my browser delete history and re-enter and then it gives me the latest info until I log on and then we have to go through the hole process again next time we look at the site. I have tried it in both goggle chrome and Firefox with the same result. All is ok until I log on then the trouble starts.

The caching was disabled 36 hours ago so you should be seeing all new posts as soon as they are posted.

In the email alert, when you click on the thread name linked, it takes you to the first page of the topic. If you click on the "view this thread" then it takes you to the unread posts.

FYI
DefenceTalk will be moving to new server later today/tonight/tomorrow (Eastern USA time). At some point, you may not be able to post (for short period of time, probably tomorrow) until migration is complete.
