SeaKing is brought to the flight deck,its rotors are folded.
A line of 4 harriers.
Don't they wash those harriers daily,they aren't looking clean.
A view of the flight deck.I was wondering where were those escorts,far away behind is i think a Delhi Class Destroyer.
Another Harrier is towed.

Some pictures of the escorts.
Leading in the picture is the INS Mysore a Delhi class Destroyer, A godavari class frigate(Modifies Leander Class) and last is a offshore patrol vessel.

Weapons visible are the Quadruple Switch blade launchers and 2 RBU-6000 ASW Rocket Launchers.
Another picture which shows the large 533mm torpedo tubes and 4 8cell Barak VLS SAM.

Delhi can carry 2 helis,Some Indian surface warships are capable of carrying 2 helis which gives advantage if ASW and Patrol.

A Kilo Class Submarine is also seen as Escort which underwent the upgrade to fire Klub Ashm(220km,Supersonic at the final Stage)
Now SeaKings are Ready to Fly.

Two Harriers make a hi-speed pass over the Carrier.
After sometime the Harriers come back.
Now it lands vertically,Actually it hovers during which exaust fumes comes out from the engine,It can be clearly seen from an Infra-Red Camera.
Now the harrier concludes the hover and slowly exaust fumes dispper.
Finally Harrier makes a perfect touch down.

Harriers Back to the Flight Deck.
Sea Kings too are back
Actually the lenght of Take-off depends on Harriers Payload and overall weight.Mission Requirements could change in minutes during the conflict.
All the Aircraft are slowly brought back to the hangar.
That was an end of an Short Exercise.
Now the Viraat Returns to the Home Base back in Mumbai and Also Harriers return to Home Base Goa.
There the story ends

Yes,Harriers performed well in RN too,they had shot down many Super sonic Argentinian Mirages during the Falk island conflict.thanx for the pictures. the harriers may look old but they have been with the IN for ages. i think that they have been well maintained.
They flexibilty makes it the best Fighter for Amphbious Assault Support like the USMC LHAs and Smaller Aircraft Carriers in RN,IN etc.
I think US also used them in the formward bases where runway was not good and adequate facilities were not availaible for other US fighters.
There is no smaller missile. The Sea Eagle was eventually qualified for operation on RAF Tornado GR-1B and Indian Air Force Jaguar strike fighters. The Indian Navy also operates the Sea Eagle with Sea King helicopters, firing the missile with dual strap-on solid rocket boosters.
