Well, how is the comparison of Su-25 and Yak-130 operation range and takeoff weight?

was't there some plans to start up the Su-25 prod-line again?
The entire Su-25 fleet is getting upgrades and life-extensions. The trainers are being replaced entirely with new Su-25UBM aircraft. It's unclear whether some of the regular planes are getting replaced also. Honestly I don't see a Yak-130 replacing them anytime soon.

Hello,
Im trying to get an overview over the RuAF plane procurement. If all the intel provided by Feanor and other various sources like wiki, aviation week is correct then is planning to get the following planes.
48 Su35
40 Su 30 (Naval aviation only?)
About 120 Su 34 in total
About 250 PAK-FA
IIRC no MIG 35.
Are thos numbers correct? Feanor? The reason is ask, is that the russian procuremnet System seems rather complicated to me nad therfore I wante some confirmation.
Another question, is there any possibility that more btaches of Su35/Su30 are ordered? Because thos numbers seem rather low to me. Or are the Russians waiting for PAK-FA and therefore do not consider more planes of those types.

The numbers currently ordered are as follows, from 2009 onward.

5 Su-34 (delivered)
4 Su-30M2 (delivered)
12 Su-27SM3 (delivered)
12 Yak-130 (delivered, 1 crashed)
48 Su-35S (deliveries due to start next year)
32 Su-34 (in progress)
55 Yak-130 (deliveries due to start next year)
28 Su-30SM with an option for another 12 (deliveries due to start next year)
?? Su-25UBM (unclear whether the contract has been signed)

No PAK-FA have been ordered to date. No MiG-35 or MiG-29K, though a contract for the latter is expected early next year. Deliveries could start also next year.

EDIT: The 6 Su-34 have officially arrived at Baltimore. The MoD press-club has organized a blogger visit to the arrival of the birds. If anyone can find pics, we can finally figure out which planes these are.

Here are some photos of the "new" Su-34s, the bort numbers visible are 01, 02, and 04. Clearly this was just a handover of previously built planes to Baltimore, not a delivery of new birds from NAPO, as the press would have us believe.

The planes that arrived so far are 01-04, with 05-06 planned for later this week. 07-09 will probably remain at Lipetsk for the time being.

Ok.. Now i'm total confused.. VVS designation allways confuse me..
The b/n red 1 and 2.. They got new cockpit glass(tinted) and some modification on the outer wingtips(topside)
Wtf is going on here, they look brand fresh on the paint job as well..
Are these a new sets of bombers with the same b/n??
Or have they been in a overhaul(brought up to the latest standard) at NAPO ?

The top cockpit antenna looks a litle different too..

Unclear. They don't have registration numbers yet. However I suspect the latter. Supposedly they will soon get a new grey paint job, more like the SMT.

Here's another close-up.

And even closer to the cockpit.

EDIT: At the end of this article there was interesting comment:Всего на вооружение «Балтимора» поступят 6 новых Су-34, ещё 4 самолёта заберут из Липецка.

http://news.moe-online.ru/view/235975.html#camment

It says that 6 new Su-34 will be accompanied by 4 from Lipetsk.

This would imply that the bort numbers we are seeing now are the ones from Lipetsk, but 6 more will come from NAPO... or it could be a normal Russian press clusterfuck, as there are rumors that bort 07-09 from Lipetsk will be based at Baltimore eventually.

EDIT2: This is getting more and more confusing. CAST seems to think that there are indeed two sets of bort numbers 01-05, and one set of 06-09.

http://bmpd.livejournal.com/128483.html?view=983011#t983011

I'll see if I can get a clear answer from them, but they are usually a rather reliable source.

EDIT3: It appears that there are right now a total of 14 Su-34s flying. The 6 delivered are 03-01, 03-02, etc. through 03-06. There are also bort numbers 01-09, out of which 06-09 were built as part of the 32 plane contract (meaning a total of 10 birds have been handed over as part of the contract). The original 01-05 will remain at Lipetsk where they will likely be used for pilot training, while 06-09 will go to Baltimore, to join the new arrivals. To confuse things even more there will be two bort 06s at Baltimore, with 03-06 of the new built, and regular 06, that was the first plane built under the contract.

Shouldn't there be a total of 15 Su-34 by now?

01-09 + 3.1-3.6= 15 total..

And are the earlier(old) Su-34 contract allready delivered.. with all the prototypes and pre-production? And now NAPO started on a new contract(b/n 3.1-3.6)?
I can't make head from tails on this one!:lol2

Edit:
It has happend before, that the original contract has been canceled upon signing a new contract, cause the Company could not deliver on time due to huge delays..

I'm bad at math *blushes*

It doesn't make sense. First they delivered bort 01-05 not as part of a single contract, but within the boundaries of annual GOZ purchases. Then they received a 32 plane contract, and the first 4 birds of that contract were 06-09. Then the next 6 birds of this same contract were bort numbers 01-06 again. They produced two bort 06 within the same contract, and duplicated the previous bort numbers from 01-05.

Edit:

There was no general contract, instead annual state defense procurement plans under which each year contracts were signed for delivery of X number aircraft.

Confusing...

@Feanor: Were the Su 27SM3 you listed in your post above actually new-built aircraft or just upgraded Su 27S?

That might be the new camo scheme they were talking about earlier, where'd you get those photos?

It doesn't say anything about the Su-27SM3 getting anything special, certainly not the AESA planned for the MKI upgrades. It mentions them getting an upgraded N001, which is what the SMs have been getting all along.

Crylisk?

EDIT: You mean cyrillic?
